Dog Cancer
Here are some sobering facts:
- Cancer is the #1 Killer of dogs
- One in Three dogs will get cancer
- In the United States, 961,167 dogs die of cancer each year
After I created the online movie “Do You Remember Love” to celebrate the love we have for our dogs, I started hearing from legions of dog lovers from around the world who were touched by the video and were either in the midst of battling canine cancer or mourning the loss of their beloved animals after cancer struck.
The more I learned about the grim statistics of dog cancer and how common it was, the more I wanted to do something to help fellow dog lovers.
Enter the Dog Cancer Vet

My friend, business partner and veterinarian, Dr. Demian Dressler is the "dog cancer vet"
Dr. Demian Dressler is my friend, business partner and my dog’s veterinarian. He is an internationally respected vet who has a special interest in dog cancer.
In 2007 we got together to work on some projects that would help people who were coping with the diagnosis of canine cancer. We wanted a two-prong approach that included both publishing information to help dog lovers and also (if possible) we wanted to develop and bring to market a nutraceutical designed to help dogs who were suffering from cancer.
My media company (Maui Media) published Dr. Dressler’s book Dog Cancer Survival Guide: Beyond Surgery, Chemotherapy & Radiation. The guide (which is available at http://DogCancerSurvival.com) is helping dog lovers around the world who are dealing with canine cancer. The book goes well beyond the traditional options that most vets in the West rely on to treat cancer. We also created the DogCancerBlog.com where Dr. Dressler blogs about canine cancer and produced a video called My Dog Has Cancer! Now What? (watch the dog cancer video here)
Functional Nutriments LLC

We formed the company Functional Nutriments LLC in late 2008.
In addition to the information products, Dr. Dressler and I co-founded Functional Nutriments LLC, a company to develop and bring to market a nutritional supplement to help dogs that were diagnosed with cancer.
We have conducted clinical trials to determine both safety and efficacy and are very excited at the results. The supplement will come to market in 2009.
